Just got back from Down Under (Perth), and what a trip this turned out to be!!!
It all started the day before we were scheduled to leave; I came down with a 39'C fever.
Mommy brought me to see the doctor to make sure that it was just fever, and get some medication for the trip.
So... off we went; Grandpa, Grandma, Daddy, Mommy and me...
The plane ride to Perth was quite enjoyable, but it was really, really long. Nearly 5 hours in total.
So, I had to make the best of it. This was my first experience using a head-set!
When we arrived, we all napped, as my fever continued...
In the evening, we walked to a nearby eatery...
Grandma made sure I was well covered up before we left...
We had an early night, as the fever continued... 39.5'C
Next day, we went to do some shopping at a nearby mall...
No proper meals, just lots of bread and ham...
As I had a fever, Daddy changed the itinerary of our trip.
We canceled the road-trip, and decided to stay at Fremantle instead.
My fever continued for another 2 nights in Fremantle, at times surpassing the 40'C point.
I woke up crying multiple times in the nights, and everyone couldn't get any proper rest.
We spent most of the time at the hotel and did not go out much.
I was simply GROUCHY!
**** Refused to change my pampers ****
**** Refused to change my clothes ****
**** Refused to eat my medication ****
**** Refused to wear socks / shoes / jacket ****
To make matters worse, Daddy fell ill too!!!
We finally did some sight-seeing when we left Fremantle to go back to Perth city.
We stopped by the Fremantle Harbour and Cottlesloe beach for a look-see.
Things appeared to look better when my fever went away abruptly.
However, red-spots started to appear on my neck and back.
That affected my appetite, my mood (I was exceptionally cranky) and everyone else was unsettled.
We decided to cut-short the trip and fly back a day earlier, as everyone was worried about me.
This was me, on our flight back... I slept through 85% of it.
If you noticed, I didn't change my shirt for 2 days because I didn't allow anyone to...
***yes, I was THAT cranky!!!***
When we got back, Daddy & Mommy brought me to see Dr. Vanessa again.
And she concluded that I have Roseola (or 'false' measles) - and the crankiness will continue for the next 3-4 days :O
Apart from that, everything else is fine.
Daddy learned never to bring a sick child on vacation, 'coz it will never be a vacation then... :)
On the brighter note, Daddy owes me a replacement trip to Australia, as I did not get to see kangaroos, dolphins, koala bears and wombats this time around which Daddy promised...
